Question...
So I was watching the BBC, and they had a live shot of the White House, with the Washington Monument in the background. I noticed that all of the flags were at half staff. Why is that? I couldn't find anything...

National Peace Officers Memorial Day (the 15th)??? Got that result from some wimpy web searches... never heard of it myself.... /pbz
OK. So I take it that no one really knows... I'm pretty sure that I saw half mast. I would think that there was a web site for such things. Or at least a method of communication. I mean, how do police offices, fire stations, and schools know when they should have their flag at half mast?

did we have any officials that passed away recently? past president? some weirdo chief of staff that no one's ever heard of?
or did W just proclaim some sorta half mass day and imposed it on the American public without consulting the Congressional oversight committee?
W is too busy fighting the war on terrah, to be burdened by any oversight.

Re: [Fwd][Fwd][Fwd][FWD][Fwd][Fwd][Fwd][Fwd]USDA flags
Dear Fellow Chicken Checkers,
Do not raise the flags all the way today. W says it is half mass day again.
Regards,
The Head of USDA
PS: Don't forget, tomorrow is Hawaiian shirt day. So, if you have a Hawaiian shirt, feel free to wear it.
