Paris...

So I'm in Paris now. I have received a fine intoduction to Paris: Someone spit on me as I was entering my hotel.

Needless to say, I was totally disgusted. It's a common ploy to pick your pocket, so I didn't let the man get too close to me. He did repeatedly say "Pardon" but I agree that Paris would be great without the Parisians.

Many people don't know this but French tanks are actually built with 6-speed transmissions. 5 speeds reverse, and 1 forward. In case they get attacked from behind.

I totally agree with Ryan.

Oh - The Germans removed the tank guns from the French tanks after they invaded in 1941. They were obsolete then. It was these guns that they installed in the beach bunkers that were used against the Allies on D-Day.

The Germans used all sorts of stuff from all of their invaded countries. It did, however, give them a logistical nightmare when something broke.

Actually, if the Germans won handily enough to capture the equipment unscathed, they usually ended up having massive stockpiles of ammo as well. It wasn´t fight to the death, but surrender under threat of overwhelming force. The countries had amassed enough to fight a war, but didn´t use most of it. And until D-Day, the Germans didn´t need to use it either...
